Healthy Diet Plan For Men - 3 Simple Tips To Follow
Men and women are different on every level. Even when it comes to the way
we eat and what we eat. Men need a different amount of vitamins and
minerals to get their bodies functioning at optimum levels. Here are
a few things you can do to ensure you are eating a healthy diet plan
for men.
Eat 9 Servings Of Fruit & Vegetables A Day
Generally speaking it is recommended that you eat 5 servings of
fruits and vegetables a day. However, for men, that number is a
little higher. Men are encouraged to eat 9 servings of fruits and
vegetables everyday. Men have the highest risk for developing cancer
and heart disease. By eating the proper amount of fruits and veggies
you can dramatically reduce those risks. It can also help you lose
weight and feel better.
Get Plenty Of Dietary Fiber
Dietary fiber is an essential part of a healthy diet plan for men.
Dietary fiber promotes proper digestion. It also reduces your
chances of developing diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
If you already suffer from type 2 diabetes, dietary fiber can help
regulate your blood sugar levels by slowing down the amount of sugar
your body absorbs into the bloodstream. Foods high in dietary fiber
include oats, beans, peas and apples.
Reduce Your Sodium Intake
While your body actually needs sodium to help balance the fluids in
your body, too much of it is a bad thing. If too much sodium gets
into your bloodstream and your kidneys can't flush it out, it can
eventually lead to cirrhosis or kidney disease. So reduce the amount
of sodium you eat on a daily basis. You should have no more than
2300 mg a day. And if you are over the age of 50 you should cut that
down to 1500 mg a day.
